Coach House, the largest trade only furniture and giftware supplier in the UK, achieved a 36% increase in online orders thanks to a new ecommerce website design, implemented by Xanthos Digital Marketing.
Coach House is the UK’s largest trade only B2B furniture and giftware supplier, having supplied trade clients with design-led furniture for over 35 years.
Coach House has a dedicated themed showroom in Lancashire, that covers over 25,000 square feet, showcasing their extensive 14,000 product lines which are sourced from around the globe. These products include traditional furniture, design-led accessories, high quality giftware, and much more.
The next step for Coach House was to bolster its multi-channel shopping approach; which meant the website needed reinvigorating. The old website was becoming rather stale and outdated, and also required extra functionality to increase B2B sales.
Xanthos was appointed to build the new website, due to having 13 years of experience in building bespoke ecommerce websites. Coach House required a design which reflected its prestigious position in the market, alongside providing a top experience for customers to browse its extensive product range online.
Coach House had a number of clear aims in mind for the new ecommerce store:
- Improve the look and feel of the website to reflect the style the brand offers
- Provide an efficient and simple ecommerce system for trade customers to order online
- Implement a mobile-friendly web design for mobile device compatibility
- Upgrade the AspDotNetStorefront software to the latest version
- Fast and simple navigation through improved menu and search features
Xanthos got to work on helping Coach House achieve its vision, and created a website which provided the style and functionality needed.
Xanthos focused on delivering the following:
AspDotNetStorefront upgrade
AspDotNetStorefront is powerful ecommerce software which allows easy content and product management, with deep configuration options to allow for full customisation of the website. Xanthos upgraded the Coach House website to the latest build of the AspDotNetStorefront platform, giving it the latest ecommerce features to help drive sales.
Responsive Web Design
Xanthos built the website with a fully mobile-responsive web design, which means it is mobile-friendly as the design “responds” to the size of the device it is viewed on. This provides customers with an intuitive user experience, on whichever mobile, tablet, or desktop device they may be using.
On-site search
Xanthos implemented its own powerful on-site search feature, which makes it as easy for customers to find their desired product. The search includes predictive instant product display search features, so customers can view potential products as soon as they start typing.
Mega Menu
The new mega menu allows quick and easy navigation through the extensive product range that Coach House has on offer. It also provides a strong administrative structure which dynamically updates the layout and product list when the catalogue is updated. Xanthos also added functionality in order for images to be incorporated within the mega menu itself, allowing for the customisation of position and size of the images.
“Back in Stock” notifications
Xanthos implemented a back-in-stock email alert system. Customers can choose to be alerted when a particular product line is back in stock. They will then receive an email prompting them to return to the site and order. The site also allows customers to pre-order any items which are out of stock, so customers can still get the products they desire.
Quick Order Form
The quick order form allows fast and efficient conversions, allowing customers who know what they want to purchase multiple products by merely entering the relevant product code and quantity, and checkout in a flash.
Inspiration page
The Coach House Inspiration Page allows visitors to directly “shop the look”. Coach House provided a range of different interior designs featuring products off the website, with quick access to the product pages being listed below.
Ecommerce features
In order to improve on conversions, certain ecommerce features were added to enhance the shopping experience on-site. This includes adding a section for recently viewed items, a wish list for customers to add items for future checkouts, and a product sort filter to allow customers to drill down and find their desired products via price, name, or stock availability. As the site is specifically B2B, it also only displays product prices when a customer is logged in.
Within two months after the website had launched, these new and improved website features helped Coach House achieve a 36% increase in online orders.
